| Eri-chan no RANT! Hello! Well, there you have it. That’s the end of chapter two. So ha. 77 pages in this chapter in case you weren’t counting them, and I hope you managed to enjoy them. I have finished drawing the cover for Chapter Three: Fire and Water Burning, and now I need to color/shade it by Thursday. I think you’re really going to like it! It’ll be my first cover in full color. We *all* know I don’t do the full color thing very often, so it’s something of a treat, and there are chains all over it! Chains are fun. This will give the twisted mind even more to run with than the leash in the prologue, though… 0_o. Oh well. At least it isn’t Yasha holding her in chains. I’m going to have to get a hold of Sarai so that we can put up the new chapter three banner in the archives, too, now that I think about it… and I still need to finish those two MAY DAY drawings… *bows to Xodia and Travis* Gomen, ne! I assure you that you’ll like the chapter cover enough to understand the wait. Aaaaaaanyway, I had a “day off” today (meaning I only worked at my part-time job), and Reini and I took my parents out to see Shreck 2 for Daddy’s birthday. It was adorable! The jokes abounded, there was a giant gingerbread cookie storming the kingdom of Far Far Away, and the art (of course) was really amazing. I love computer animation when it’s done well. Oh, and after the movie I re-read a whole bunch of Kenshin just to give myself an inferiority complex. I’m tellin’ you, it’s an amazing piece of work, and I have fun every time I read it. YEAY for Yahiko~! ^_^ He’s my favorite. Well, I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Day weekend (those of you who were in the States where it’s a national holiday, anyway). I worked about 30 hours in those three days alone, now that I count them up 0_o… wow. Well, thanks for sticking with me through chapter two! Here’s hoping chapter three will be shorter, gosh darn it all to heck and back. Love- Eri-chan |
Rei no RANT! Dear all: first and foremost, after having a discussion with eri-chan, i have a small issue to handle. we discussed pay comics, and she mentioned that some people do free comics PLUS the pay comics. that way people can read their work for free, and if they really like it, then can pay to read it too. i can somewhat get into that. eri-chan also mentioned that some servers will let you post for free, but you have to have a pay comic. that's just their policy. small issue to discuss, thought i would publicly admit my former ignorance of the issue. i still can't stand the donate hounds, but s'all good. let's talk unlikely character development. that's a stunning topic that is constantly coming into play. as well as discussing pay comics, eri-chan and i also discussed unlikely character development in a certain highly popular book from a certain highly popular series. i won't say which because i'll prolly get nasty messages from people because quite a few individuals LIKED the piece of crap. ooops...did i say that out loud? anywho, the main problem with the story is that the main character goes from being a nice, sweet, modest person to a cocky, arrogant, rude, nasty person - all in the time span of a month. not saying it can't happen, but first and foremost, i want to see that section of this character's life because it had better be pretty impacting to change him so severally, and two, a month is kind of pushing it. if the author wanted me to believe that change was possible, it needed to be set up from the first page of the series. moral of my crappy reading experience: never ever betray your readers. if you plan to change them significantly, it needs to be set up. furthermore, the readers usually like to read it, or in the WC sense, see it. bravo. end rant. ooh...ps: i just saw the first volume of azumanga daioh on the shelves of best buy. yeah for being out in anime-funness for rei's enjoyment! i promise, i don't often refer to myself in the third person. but yeah! -Rei |
